Guidelines for the Season:

Let me CLARIFY THE WIN
...there are 2 primary goals for Every Player this season:

(1) Have Fun!

  • The game of baseball is fun and my primary goal as your child's coach is to help him learn to play the game and for him to enjoy the experience so that he will hopefully play again next season.
  • Having fun means we enjoy the game of baseball--it does not mean we goof off.
(2) Get Better!

  • We will work hard as a team and I will ask your child to work hard during each practice and each game. At the end of day, my goal as your child's coach is to help your son improve his skills as a ball player.
  • I can assure you that if your son gives his best effort  he will improve this season and become a better ball player.
We will WIN BALL GAMES when achieve these two goals.
  • We will play to win ball games!
  • Your player will want to win games and so do their coaches--we were built this way and that's why we play--we will play competitive baseball.
  • If we lose, it is OK if we gave our best effort--we learn from our mistakes and apply teaching to improve our skill for the next game.

The truth of the matter:
I have had teams in the past that were super talented but could never learn to have fun and play as a team; they ended up with a losing record for the season. On the other hand, I have had teams with mediocre talent who learned early in preseason practice to play as a team and we marched our way through the season to become league champions.
